Terms of Service & Practice Policies
Terms of Service & Practice Policies
Welcome
Thank you for visiting my practice. By accessing this website, requesting services, scheduling appointments, or participating in therapy, you acknowledge and agree to the policies outlined below.
Therapy Services
I provide outpatient mental health counseling services for adults, adolescents, couples, and/or families, depending on my scope of practice and licensure.
Therapy is a collaborative process intended to support emotional wellness, personal growth, and achievement of treatment goals. While therapy can be highly beneficial, specific outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
Use of this website does not establish a therapist-client relationship. A therapeutic relationship is established only after completion of the intake process and mutual agreement to begin treatment.
Scheduling and Attendance
Appointments are available by reservation only.
Regular attendance is an important part of the therapeutic process. Clients are expected to attend scheduled sessions and communicate promptly regarding scheduling concerns.
Clients arriving late may be seen for the remainder of the scheduled session time. Sessions will typically end at the originally scheduled time.
Cancellation Policy
A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice and missed appointments (no-shows) may be subject to a cancellation fee.
Cancellation fees are the client's responsibility and are not reimbursable by insurance.
Exceptions may be made in cases of illness, emergencies, or unforeseen circumstances at the clinician's discretion.
Repeated missed appointments or late cancellations may result in termination of services.
Fees and Payment
Clients are responsible for all fees associated with services provided.
This includes:
Copayments
Coinsurance
Deductibles
Services not covered by insurance
Missed appointment fees
Fees for reports, letters, or other non-treatment services when applicable
Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged.
Insurance
If insurance benefits are utilized, clients remain responsible for understanding their coverage and benefits.
Verification of benefits does not guarantee payment by the insurance company. Clients remain financially responsible for any balance not covered by insurance.
Telehealth Services
Telehealth appointments may be conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform.
By participating in telehealth services, clients agree to:
Attend sessions from a private location whenever possible.
Maintain adequate internet or phone connectivity.
Provide an emergency contact and current physical location when requested.
Telehealth services may not be appropriate for all situations and may be discontinued if clinically indicated.
Communication
Phone calls, emails, text messages, and portal messages are intended for scheduling and administrative matters only.
Messages are generally returned within 1–2 business days during normal business hours.
Electronic communications should not be used for emergencies or urgent mental health concerns.
Emergency Services
I do not provide 24-hour crisis or emergency services.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please:
Call 911
Go to the nearest emergency room
Call or text 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline
Do not rely on voicemail, email, text messages, or website contact forms during emergencies.
Confidentiality
Client information is protected by applicable federal and state confidentiality laws, including HIPAA where applicable.
There are circumstances in which confidentiality may be limited or legally required to be disclosed, including:
Risk of serious harm to self
Risk of serious harm to others
Suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or vulnerable adult
Court orders or other legal requirements
Situations otherwise required by law
Additional information regarding privacy practices is available upon request.
Social Media and Online Interactions
